The Ave Maria Parish Choir, directed by Marian Mandy, leads the singing for the Sunday 10am Mass. This mixed voice ensemble accepts singers, aged 14 and above. Attendance at a weekly Tuesday rehearsal from 7pm-8:30pm is required. The ability to match pitch and blend in the choir is essential. Some ability to read music is important, although participation in this ensemble will provide growth opportunities for members to increase their reading ability. The Rosary is a simple teaching tool in the hands of a missionary. It represents prayer, instruction, and devotion to Our Mother Mary. Fraternus is open to all Catholic boys and men ages 13 and up. With a focus on recreation and squad time discussion based on the 7 cardinal virtues, Fraternus allows Fathers to meet their sons "where they are" in their walk of faith as they confront the challenges of growing up in today's secular society. The Lay Cistercians community gathers once a month (second Sunday of each month) at a different location in Ave Maria, to renew themselves in living the Gospel by the Cistercian contemplative path through prayer and study. Ave Reparation Walk every Saturday until lent ends at 6:30pm at the front of the church. No registration needed, just show up. Seven sorrows, seven stations, and seven times around the church (approximately 80 minutes).
All Altar Servers regardless of age or level of experience are encouraged to participate in the weekly training and formation sessions that are offered for both forms of Mass - Novus Ordo and Extraordinary Form. Novus Ordo sessions are led by Fr. John Andem every Saturday at 10:30am and last for an hour. The sessions finish with some snacks at the Parish Hall around 12pm. Extraordinary Form sessions are led by Joseph Kaminski every Sunday preceding the Mass at 11:30am and end at 12:15pm. Weekly Guided Children's Eucharistic Adoration every Monday from 6:30pm-7:30pm. Children in grades 1-6 will gather together as a group to adore our Eucharistic Lord Jesus. Others are welcome to join in this beautiful time of prayer using the pews in the back half of the Church.
Our Lady of Wisdom Praesidium, seeking personal sanctification by prayer and holy works in service of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Come visit Ave Maria's Legion of Mary weekly meetings on Monday evenings from 7pm - 8:30pm at the Mary and Mercy Center. Works done include participation in the Fatima Pilgrim Virgin Statue Home Visitation Program, distributing holy items, and welcoming new members of the Ave Maria Community. Men of Ave Maria Parish are invited to join the Men's Holy Hour of Reparation Prayer Group. The intention of the Holy Hour is to console the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to make reparation for blasphemy and sacrilege against the Holy Eucharist and the Holy Priesthood. We meet every Monday night from 8pm-9pm in the Church. The Holy Hour is open to all men in the parish and boys 17 and older. Free guided tours of the iconic Ave Maria Catholic Church from 1pm to 3pm at the front of the Church on Tuesdays. In addition, group tours of twenty or more are also available by reservation by contacting Robert Schoenborn at 239-202-1147 or by email at tours(at)avemariaparish.org. The Ave Maria Parish Choir, directed by Marian Mandy, leads the singing for the Sunday 10am Mass. This mixed voice ensemble accepts singers, aged 14 and above. Attendance at a weekly Tuesday rehearsal from 7pm-8:30pm is required. The ability to match pitch and blend in the choir is essential. Some ability to read music is important, although participation in this ensemble will provide growth opportunities for members to increase their reading ability.
