Are you optimistic about the future of our church and country?
Are you troubled by the absence of strong authentic Catholic masculinity in our culture today?
What do you believe to be the most important movement needed to reverse the current downward slide of morality in our country?
Let me pose to you what I firmly believe to be critically necessary to begin to reverse this trend. Our next generation of boys will no doubt have the greatest influence on the direction our country takes with respect to returning to morality and faith.
As previously announced, with Fr. Vidal's blessing we are now looking to re-form a Fraternus Chapter here at Ave Maria Parish! I am personally excited to be able to be part of the team that will help ensure our new chapter is both successful and sustainable. Thank you Father!
But to make that happen your help is needed. I would like to invite you to attend an informational meeting to be held:
Tuesday, November 2nd at the Parish Center from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM
We will review what Fraternus is all about, the essential elements of the program and what it takes to develop a strong and vibrant chapter.
What it takes is you. Your personal commitment to attend Frat Nights each week with your sons and help teach and practice the 7 Cardinal Virtues of our Catholic faith.
To that end we are looking for a core group of dedicated men who are able and willing to help share their God given talents with their sons and the young men of this parish.
What is Fraternus?
Fraternus is a group of men and boys who gather each week - "Frat Night". During the academic year Fraternus meets for 2 hours of prayer, meal sharing, recreation and most importantly opportunities to build the brotherhood through friendship and sharing in age organized "squads". We study the virtues and discuss how it
What is the qualifying age for Fraternus?

What is the age limit for Fraternus?
No age limit! Boys progress through ranks right up until Knighthood and beyond. All men are welcome to join and assist as needed. Important note: All men must be Virtus certified and finger printed to be able to participate in the program - no exceptions.
When do you anticipate beginning the program?
Right after the beginning of the new year in January!
National Training for all officers and captains here at Ave Maria - SAVE THE DATE!
Saturday, February 12th at the Parish Center from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM (immediately following T.M.I.Y)
How can you help?
We need many "times and talents" to be shared in order to make Ave Maria Fraternus a successful chapter. The formal officer roles include: finance, excursions, communications, frat night, and outreach.
It's impossible to go into here all the detail of what the Fraternus Brotherhood can offer you and your son but I strongly encourage you to visit Fraternusmen.org for more information.
I look forward to seeing you on the 2nd, but in the interim please reach out to me should you have any questions.
