Location:Ave Maria University - Prince Building Auditorium
Joseph Pearce will speak about problems with modern education on Thursday, February 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium in the Prince Building. Pearce, a native of England and former literature professor at AMU, is the author of a number of books, including such bestsellers as The Quest for Shakespeare, Tolkien: Man and Myth, and C.S. Lewis and The Catholic Church. He is director of book publishing at the Augustine Institute, editor of Ignatius Critical Editions, and editor of the St. Austin Review. In his talk, “A Matter of Life and Death: The Battle for a True Education,” Pearce will address the radical relativism, secular fundamentalism, and anti-Christian agenda in modern education and outline the marks of true education, which counters the culture of death with eternal life-giving verities. Several of Pearce’s books will be available for purchase at the talk. Only cash or checks can be accepted.
