Our Mission
As a Carmelite nun, St. Therese understood the importance of prayer, especially prayer before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Ladies of the Little Flower make a commitment to pray for all of our members and their intentions, for those we visit, and for the needs of the Church, especially for her priests. The time and amount of prayer varies according to each person's vocation and schedule. During our monthly meetings, we will learn what prayer is according to our Carmelite Saint. We will pray together the Morning Offering that Saint Therese prayed and Night Prayer from the Breviary.
We go in pairs to visit three particular groups of people in our town. The first are those who are sick, especially the home bound. The second are the young mothers who have just given birth. The third are those who have experienced the death of a family member. We offer to pray an Our Father and give them our Saint's signature rose and her prayer card to show our love.
We gather together once a month to foster friendships and to help each other grow in holiness through the study and discussion of the writings of Saint Therese, a master of Carmelite Spirituality and the 33rd Doctor of the Church.
Our Meetings
We meet the first Thursday of the month from 7pm to 8:30pm.
Our meeting begins with a short prayer that St. Therese prayed. We then discuss a chapter of the book we have been reading. After our discussion, we pray Night Prayer from the Breviary together and end with social time.
